The majority of visitors to Borrego Springs come during the winter months when the warmth of the desert is most appealing.  But if you find yourself here when the heat of the desert floor is a bit too much for low level hiking, all you need to do is gain some elevation in the adjacent mountains, where you will find the conditions much cooler.  There are many hikes in the high country, we list a few of the most popular ones below.
