Many of the dirt roads in Anza-Borrego Desert State Park can be driven with high clearance 2WD vehicles if the driver has experience with sandy roads, although 4WD is advised because road conditions can change after flash floods or other weather events.  Stop by ABDNHA's Desert Nature Center Store for the latest road information.

Font's Point is one of the highlights of Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, but you won't see why until the very end of the road, and then a short walk, a walk that reveals the stark beauty of the Borrego Badlands spreading out below you to the east.  Sunrise and sunset are particularly beautiful as the mud hills take on an amazing array of colors.

Difficulty & Distance:  There is a 4 mile dirt road leading from S22 to the point.  This road will always have some areas of soft sand, and at times, much of the road can be soft sand.  Check road conditions before you go.
