Narrow-Leaf Cryptantha

BORAGINACEAE: Cryptantha angustifolia

The narrow-leaf cryptantha spreads up to 24 inches. Look for it in sandy to rocky soils especially along roadsides, in creosote scrub, and in desert woodland. C. angustifolia is Anza-Borrego’s most common cryptantha on the desert floor, especially on older flat surfaces not recently disturbed. Harvester ants are fond of the seeds.
