Dyeweed or White Dalea

Dyeweed, or the white dalea, is a small shrub that is frequently seen beside dirt roads. If you touch the blossoms of the white dalea, you may find a saffron-colored stain on your hands.

White dalea is the host plant to the tiny Pilostyles thurberii which lives in its branches.
