Honey Mesquite

Honey mesquite is a small multi-trunk tree or shrub; the bark is variable from light brown to darker brown to greenish; paired spines up to 2 inches (5 cm) long are characteristic of this species.

Mesquite trees are known for their bean-shaped pods.
