Common Desert Thorn

The Lycium, or box-thorn, genus of shrubs is well represented in Anza-Borrego with such species as common desert thorn (Lycium brevipes), waterjacket (Lycium andersonii), peach desert thorn (Lycium cooperi), and Fremont’s desert thorn (Lycium fremontii).
