Inspiration Point from Dump Wash

From Pegleg Road, look toward the Borrego Badlands for a tall mesa with a light-colored band around it. This is Inspiration Point. It may or may not be inspiring, but it does make a nice objective for a drive or a hike. It's possible to walk onto it and enjoy the view.

Getting to Inspiration Point. Four-wheel drive is recommended if you drive. The Inspiration Wash jeep trail off the Borrego-Salton Seaway goes to the base of Inspiration Point. Turning westward, it becomes Dump Wash, going to the Borrego Dump at the end of Old Spring Road. This drive can be made in reverse, but a better way to enjoy the terrain is to walk it. To walk on top of Inspiration Point, drive Fonts Point Wash half a mine past Short Wash.
