Anza-Borrego North:
Henderson Canyon
This canyon is rugged, and it may be tricky to find your car once you leave
it, but there is much to recommend it. It's a good place to look for spring
wildflowers. It's a good place to look at the granite mountains. There are
fine views of the Borrego Valley, and, with a little luck, you may spot
a Peninsular Bighorn Sheep or two.
Getting to Henderson Canyon. From Christmas Circle in
Borrego Springs, go north on Borrego Springs Road to its end at Henderson
Vallley Road. Continue north onto a dirt road and follow it as it turns
left toward the San Ysidro Mountains.
