Central Anza-Borrego: Cool Canyon

As the name implies, Cool Canyon can be a cool place to be on a hot day. It is also a good starting place for a hike on Granite Mountain. It is located along the base of Granite Mountain and accessed by a mile-long dirt road running westward from County Road S-2. From there, it is hiking only on a narrow trail.
