San Sebastian Marsh
The Anza expeditions marched from Yuha Well and across Coyote Wash in the
southern desert, continuing north to San Sebastian Marsh in the central desert.
From here they turned northwest to Borrego Spring, and then up the Borrego
Valley to Coyote Canyon.
Bureau of Land Management road EC (for El Centro) 085 parallels the route
through Anza-Borrego Central. Access EC 085 in the parking lot on the east
side of the United States Gypsum Corporation building in Plaster City. This
is a 4-wheel drive road that goes for about 25 miles around the Fish Creek
Mountains to Split Mountain Road, 8 miles south of Ocotillo Wells.
