Go Shopping!  AAA Westways Magazine says the ABDNHA Nature Center "has the best selection of books about the local area."  The Nature Center also has hats, shirts, jewelry, and other desert items.  652 Palm Canyon Drive. Visit the State Park Visitor Center.  There are fascinating displays about the paleontology, archeology, and the desert environment, along with information about hiking trails, and interpretive programs in the park.

ABDNHA's Borrego Botanical Garden, directly behind the ABDNHA building has desert plants from around the world and is a haven for birds and butterflies.  The garden is also a peaceful place for a relaxing lunch. Borrego's Sculptures.  Visit Borrego's famous "sky art" scultures, 130 of them, scattered in the desert around Borrego Springs.  Some represent creatures that once lived here, some history, and others are magical and mystical.  The flower map shows the main sculpture areas.
The Borrego Art Institute, with free admission, is located right on Christmas Circle.  There are always art shows at the Institute; stop by to see what is there during your visit. Dark Night Sky  Come for the flowers and stay for the night!  Did you know that Borrego Springs was one of the first ever ( # 2 actually) international dark sky communities  in the entire world?  Borrego Springs is proud of its beautiful dark desert skies.
   
  Hiking   There are several hiking trails into Anza-Borrego Desert State Park that begin right at the edge of town.  The most popular hiking route is on the Palm Canyon Trail, starting at the State Park Campground.  This is also the one of the best spots in the entire park to hope for a glimpse of desert bighorn sheep.  They are often seen along the trail
