Anza-Borrego South: Palm Spring

All you get a Palm Spring is one palm tree (a small one), some dense brush, and a quiet pond fed by a steady supply of water. If you are a bird, an insect, or a reptile, or desert animal, you may find that quite enough. We've actually seen a bat stop here to drink. If you are a human interested in such things, all you need is to get out there on a quiet morning, find yourself some shade, and enjoy.

Look for the Palm Spring sign on the east side of S-2 opposite Canebrake at mile 43. The spring is about a mile and a half away on hard-packed sand.
