Indian Hill is a former Indian ceremonial site and a popular hiking destination. The area was originally used by the Pinto Basin Indians who preceded the Kumeyaay by several thousand years. An abandoned railway camp, used during construction of the San Diego-Arizona Railway, is nearby.

It is possible to hike from this area to the railroad tracks, including Goat Canyon Trestle. However, the tracks are on private property.
