Anza-Borrego North : Borrego Palm Canyon
The hiking trail that leads up Palm Canyon to the Borrego Palm Oasis is the most
popular hiking route in all of Anza-Borrego State Park. It is easily
assessable from paved roadways and is just minutes from Borrego Springs,
starting at the west end of the Park's Borrego Palm Campground.
Palm Canyon Oasis
The Borrego Palm Canyon Trail has many things going for it that make it a
excellent destination for a day hike.

It is one of the best locations in Anza-Borrego to catch a glimpse of desert
bighorn sheep.

It is excellent habitat for mammals
and lizards.

The Oasis is located at a good
water source. -
The moisture in the wash makes it an
excellent place to see desert plants and wildflowers in springtime. -
It is one of very few places
where you can see fish in the Anza-Borrego Desert. There is a small
pupfish pond adjacent to the starting point of the trail.
