Old Borrego Valley Road

On the north side of Highway 78 from a small power plant, Old Borrego Valley Road crosses the dry San Felipe Creek and climbs a little bluff north of Yaqui Ridge. In pioneer days, this was the main route into Borrego Springs. Today the road enters the vastly more civilized property of the Montesoro Country Club.

This is a quiet road through a nice stand of Teddy-bear Cholla (Cylindropuntia bigelovii) with little to no traffic. There are nice views of the Borrego Valley as you approach Montesoro.
